2006 CPPA Annual Meeting, 11/04/06, at the LASD Training Center in Castaic, CA

8:45 am……..Meeting begins.

ALL CPPA Board Members present, except ……Blackwood, Cantrell, Jackman

TREASURER’S REPORT....Read and presented to all members at the annual meeting.

All CPPA accounts are in good standings.    Report accepted.

MINUTES...Read from meeting on 08/26/06 at LASD Training Center.  Accepted.

BY-LAWS......Need to be updated.

MEMBERSHIP….. Patti Fant wishes to stop doing this task.  Also notes there are problems with CPPA & NRA cards & numbers being checked by match sponsors.  Mark Liddi will take over this task.

MATCH SPONSORS…Nothing.   Patti Fant has forms needed to send to NRA.

STATS AND RECORDS.......John Koon’s has Stats-Record info posted on CPPA website.

CLASSIFICATIONS/PROTESTS.......NRA is still slow in changing member’s classifications.

DISTINGUISHED MATCH........The 2006 final standings emailed to BOD and posted at today’s meeting.  Five shooters legged out.  Three in the revolver and two in the semi-auto programs.  We have enough badges on hand for the awards.

TARGETS……CPPA and LASD owes RSO for targets provided for their matches.  Matter to be resolved.

PUBLICATIONS. Cost of mailing/printing the Front Sight is too high.  Presently only two members have indicated, that they do not have a computer.  They will be mailed the Front Sight.  All other members will get their Front Sight emailed.  Also match results and match flyers are not being sent out to all shooters.  Match sponsors need to remind shooters to fill out a mailing label for results.

NEW BUSINESS

Proposal #1….We are still shooting 4 matches per match.  Two revolver & two semi-auto.  We need to have just 2 matches for a match weekend.  (one match per sponsor)  Discussion…Each Sponsor can have a Maximum of 2 & minimum of 1 match.  i.e.: 1-auto/1-revolver.   All voted to accept.

Proposal #2…Suggestion to do Postal Matches again.  Discussion….would be better for sponsors.  Members voted to return to the  Postal Match program.

Proposal #3…Reduce the number of shooters in the Governor’s Twenty-award program for 2007.  Discussion….A smaller number of shooters & teams are completing the needed matches.  This award should reflex a percentage of the total shooting members.  Proposal to change to a Governor’s Fifteen (15) and Top 10 teams (4 & 2 person) to Top 5 teams for 2007.  All voted to accept.

Members had a discussion on NRA match fees and why does the CPPA have every match a NRA match (approved/registered).  The CPPA has NRA matches to allow CPPA shooters to get a NRA classification, to get Gov-20 program recognition, and NRA records.  Some members-sponsors feel the costs are too high. Members-sponsors also advise there still is a problem with slow NRA classification returns.  Nothing further on this topic.
