LOCATION                   LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF’S RANGE (PITCHESS HONOR RANCHO aka WAYSIDE)

                                    29300 The Old Road, Castaic (Coming from the north or south exit the 5 Freeway at Hasley Canyon Rd., then go south on The Old Road to entrance of Pitchess Honor Rancho.  Check in at guard shack then proceed to first paved road on right and follow to the range)       

 

ENTRY                         Competitors must be eligible to compete under RULE 2.4

RULES                         

 

ALL COMPETITORS MUST PRESENT THE FOLLOWING ITEMS DURING REGISTRATION:

1.        Valid Department or Agency Identification.

2.       Current Classification Card or current temporary classification.

3.       NEW SHOOTERS AND SHOOTERS WITHOUT PROOF OF A LOWER CLASSIFICATION WILL SHOOT IN THE HIGH MASTER CLASS.

4.       Entries will be accepted through the match dates.

 

COMPETITORS WILL DO SCORING.

COMPETITORS FROM THE SAME DEPARTMENT WILL NOT SCORE EACH OTHER’S TARGETS!!!

TEAMS MUST BE DECLARED BEFORE THE FIRST SHOT IS FIRED BY A TEAM MEMBER

SQUADDING:             Competitors will fire Match 1 through 5 consecutively.  Relays will be fired on the hour.

 

CLASS:                        N.R.A. Classification – High Master, Master, Expert, Sharpshooter, Marksman and Classified – will be used.  Unclassified shooters are required to shoot in the High Master Class (Rule 19.2).  Categories of Federal, State, County, Etc. will not be used.

 

AWARD                       One award will be given for every seven competitors or teams in a class

SCHEDULE:                                                                            .

 

FIREARMS                   Rule 3.2 and 3.3 of the current N.R.A. Police Combat Rule Book.

PERMITTED:

 

AMMO:                        Either hand loaded or factory loaded round nose, semi-wadcutter or wadcutter ammunition, .32 caliber or larger, may be used.  No High-Speed or Magnum ammunition will be allowed (Rule 3.17).

 

HOLSTER:                   A conventional right or left-handed holster must be used.  For safety reasons shoulder, cross-draw or holsters that require the insertion of a finger within the trigger guard will not be permitted.  The holster cannot be tied down.

 

LOADING:                   All loading will be with cartridges taken from the Competitor’s pocket, cartridge belt, mechanical loaders or special pouch.  Cartridge belts and special pouches may be used if they are practical for Police Duty use.  It is the Competitor’s responsibility to have sufficient ammunition in his/her possession to complete the event.  If the equipment to be used is questionable, it should be submitted to the Match Official for a decision prior to firing the first match.  All loading will be with six cartridges.  The time for reloading is included in the time for each match or stage.

 

OPTICAL DEVICES:  No optical devices (other than normal glasses worn for corrective eyesight purposes or sunglasses.

 

TARGETS:                   The N.R.A. B-27 Target will be used.  Only hits in the 7, 8, 9 and 10 scoring areas will be used.  Competitors will do the scoring (Competitors will not score their own targets or the targets of competitors from their own Agency).

 

SIGHTING                  Sighting shots will not be permitted.

SHOTS:

 

REFIRES:                     Re-fires will be allowed for range alibis and crossfires only.

 

BREAKING                   Rule 15.11 will apply

TIES:

 

ALCOHOLIC:               No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the range property.

 

COURSE OF FIRE – 1500 MATCH:

 

MATCH 1                     7-yard line, 12 rounds in 20 seconds, standing without support, double action only.

                                    15-yard line, 12 rounds in 20 seconds, standing without support, double action only.

MATCH 2                     25-yard line, 6 rounds kneeling, 6 rounds standing left hand barricade, 6 rounds standing right hand barricade in 90 seconds, double action only.

MATCH 3                     50-yard line, 6 rounds sitting, 6 rounds prone, 6 rounds standing left hand barricade, 6 rounds standing right hand barricade in 2 minutes 45 seconds, single or double action.

MATCH 4                     25-yard line, two stages of 12 rounds in 35 seconds, standing without support, double action only.

MATCH 5                     STAGE A:  7 yard line, 12 rounds in 20 seconds, standing without support, double action only.

STAGE B:  25 yard line, 6 rounds kneeling, 6 rounds standing left hand barricade, 6 rounds standing right hand barricade in 90 seconds, double action only.

                                    STAGE C:  50 yard line, 6 rounds sitting, 6 rounds prone, 6 rounds standing left hand barricade, 6 rounds standing right hand barricade in 2 minutes 45 seconds, single or double action.

                                    STAGE D:  25 yard line, 6 rounds in 12 seconds, standing without support, double action only.

 

TEAM                          Match 5 (Stages A-D) of the 1500 will be used for Team
