THE 2011 DIXIE NATIONALS PPC REGIONAL COMPETITION

 

Join us on Friday, August 12, 2011 and shoot our monthly Governors 20 Match for practice. Match Fee will be $25 for all matches that day. We will fire a Service Revolver, Distinguished Match (your choice of gun), 1500 Match (your choice of gun) and Stock Auto Match.  This match is just for fun and practice; therefore, no prizes will be awarded on this day.

The range will be open from the end of this match until 6:00 pm for practice matches at a cost of $5 per Match 5.

When making reservations, please identify yourself as being with the APPA (Alabama Police Pistol Association) for a discounted rate of $59.00 per night.  This hotel is located near the intersection of McFarland Boulevard E (HWY 82) and Skyland Boulevard E which is near I20/59 Exit 73.  The facility has a swimming pool and a meeting area.

 

A registration table will be set up at the host hotel from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, August 12, 2011.  Stop by to pick up packets and visit for a little bit.  

 

Range Location:

From I-20/59: Take McFarland Blvd. exit (#73).  Go North on McFarland Blvd. Continue until you cross the Warrior River. Take the first right past the end of the bridge. Go to the traffic signal. Turn left onto Rice Mine Rd. (Co. 30) Continue approx. 3 miles. Turn right onto New Watermelon Rd. The first road on the right goes to the Plott Water Treatment Plant and also leads to the range.  Please be aware that if you get to the lake and dam you have gone to far.

 

ENTRY CLOSING DATE: Entries will close at 5:00 PM on Friday, August 5th, 2011

All entries received or postmarked after that time will be considered late entries.

 

LATE ENTRIES: Late entries will be accepted until 8:00 a.m. on the day of the

match within the capacity of the range.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT: It is required that all competitors wear ear and eye protection while on the range by order of the Tuscaloosa Police Dept.

 

Please note:

Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages

at or around the range is absolutely prohibited

 

SCORING: Competitor scoring will be utilized. It is the competitor’s responsibility to make sure that his score card is complete with signatures, and is turned in to the stat office as soon as possible. Check your hits, scores, and totals before signing your score card. Once the score card is signed, the value of the shots recorded on that card is FINAL and cannot be changed.  ALL SCORES WILL BE POSTED WITH A PROTEST TIME LISTED.  IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE COMPETITOR TO CHECK HIS SCORE FOR ACCURACY BEFORE THE PROTEST TIME HAS EXPIRED.

SQUADDING: All matches will be squadded.  Squadding information may be picked up at the times indicated on the daily schedule.

AMMUNITION: NRA Rule 3.17 will apply.

TEAMS: Teams will consist of either two or four firing members, one alternate,

and a team captain. Eligibility of team must conform to NRA Rule 2.14. The team

captain may be a firing member. A competitor may fire on one team only. Only one team per department may be entered in the Two Man Team match. Coaching is permitted in team matches as per NRA Rules.

LOADING: All loading will be done on command. All loading must be done with cartridges on the shooters person as per NRA Rules 10.9 and 18.9.

OPTICAL DEVICES: Other than normal glasses worn for eyesight correction purposes or sunglasses, no optical devices will be permitted on the range during match firing for use by competitors as per NRA Rule 3.9. Optical devices may be used by coaches during team matches as per NRA Rule 12.6.

HOLSTER: A conventional right or left handed holster must be used. For safety reasons, shoulder, cross draw, or holsters which require releasing by insertion of finger within the trigger guard will not be allowed. Semi-automatic pistol holsters must completely cover the trigger as per NRA Rule 3.12.

TARGETS: NRA licensed B-27 targets will be used.

CLASSIFICATION: Competitors will be divided into classes provided there are five or more in each class. If there are less than five entries in any class, sponsor reserves the right to combine that class with the next higher class. Teams will not be divided by class.

CATEGORIES: Competitors will not be divided into categories.

REFIRES: No refires will be allowed for defective guns or ammunition or other malfunctions of the competitor’s equipment. Competitors may clear jams or malfunctions provided that safe conditions are maintained.

SIGHTING SHOTS: No sighting shots will be allowed.

                                          be awarded to aggregate winners in each competing class with at least five competitors.                                                                                                                                                            

                                          Aggregate will be calculated by adding the Service, 1500 and Distinguished match scores.

Course of fire for Service Revolver and Stock Semi-auto Matches

 

STAGE ONE:  6 rounds fired double action at the 3 yard line using one hand.   

Time limit 8 seconds.

STAGE TWO: 12 rounds fired double action at the 7 yard line.                                      

Time limit 20 seconds.

STAGE THREE: 12 rounds fired double action at the 15 yard line.                     

Time limit 20 seconds.

STAGE FOUR:  18 rounds fired double action at 25 yard line, 6 rounds kneeling

using barricade, 6 rounds left and right hand standing behind the barricade.                                           

Time limit 90 seconds.

 

 

MATCH DESCRIPTIONS:

MATCH ONE

Two stages of 12 shots each fired double action from the standing without

support position. First stage fired at 7 yards and second stage fired at 15 yards.

20 seconds per stage starting with loaded gun in holster and including reload.

MATCH TWO

25 Yards - Double action - 6 shots kneeling, 6 shots standing left

hand from behind the barricade, 6 shots standing right hand from behind the barricade. Time allowed is 90 seconds. Time starts with loaded gun in holster and includes reloading for subsequent 6 shot strings.

MATCH THREE

50 Yards - Single or double action - 6 shots sitting, 6 shots prone, 6 shots standing left hand from behind the barricade, 6 shots standing right from behind the barricade. Time allowed is 2 minutes and 45 seconds. Time starts with loaded gun in holster and includes reloading for subsequent 6 shot strings. 

MATCH FOUR

25 Yards - Two stages of 12 shots each fired double action from the standing without support position. 35 seconds per stage starting with loaded gun in

holster and including time to reload.

MATCH FIVE  

STAGE 1.  7 yards ‑ D.A. ‑ 12 shots from the standing without support position. Time of 20 seconds, time starts with loaded gun in holster and includes reloading for second 6 shot string.

STAGE 2.  25 yards ‑ D.A. ‑ 6 shots kneeling; 6 shots standing left hand from behind the barricade; 6 shots standing right hand from behind the barricade. Time 90 seconds, time starts with loaded gun in holster and includes reloading for subsequent 6 shot strings.

STAGE 3. 50 yards ‑ D.A. or S.A. ‑ 6 shots sitting; 6 shots prone; 6 shots standing left hand from behind the barricade; 6 shots standing right hand from behind the barricade. Time 2 minutes 45 seconds, time starts with loaded gun in holster and includes reloading for subsequent 6 shot strings.

STAGE 4. 25 yards ‑ D.A. ‑ 6 shots standing without support. Time

12 seconds, time starts with loaded gun in holster. No barricade or support

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

AWARDS SCHEDULE 

Two firearms will be given away as door prizes. One will be given away on Saturday August 13th, and one on Sunday August 14th. 

Each firearm will be awarded by drawing from the names of registered competitors. You must be present to win any prize awarded by drawing.                                                                                                                      

Only one gun will be awarded to any competitor during the matches and or drawing on any one day, except for the Grand Aggregate winner. No firearms will be awarded at the range.

 

No firearm will be awarded in any class with less than (5) entries.  Classifications with less than five (5) entries will be bumped to the next higher class.

The Grand Aggregate Winner will receive a trophy + firearm.

The Grand Aggregate Runner-up will receive a trophy.

 

Please be sure to bring your FFL Dealers info with you, Out of State Prize Winners must arrange to have their firearm shipped to their dealer for transfer at the competitor’s expense.  Prizes must be claimed within 4 weeks after the tournament or they will be forfeited.

 

DISCLAIMER:

Please be aware that hosting a Regional Police Pistol Combat Match takes a lot of work.  The Alabama Police Pistol Association can not absorb a loss on this event.  Therefore, by being a competitor you agree that all mentioned awards in this program are entirely conditional upon the number of participants and may be changed as necessary to keep the match at a break even point.

--No competitor may receive more than one firearm per day

    (except the Grand Aggregate).

--In the event that there are fewer than five (5) shooters in a Classification or a Category, they will be combined with the next highest classification or category. 

 

 

SATURDAY NIGHT F.O.P. DINNER

 

Our good friends at the Tuscaloosa F.O.P. (King Hubbard Lodge #10) will again be providing the participants of the Dixie Nationals with a delicious dinner. Dinner will be served at the FOP Lodge at 3250 9th Court, Tuscaloosa, AL.  We hope all competitors and their guests will join us at 6:30pm for a nice time together.
