2017 CPPA Annual meeting, 11/4/17 at the Embassy Suites in Valencia, CA

 

9:45 am……..Meeting begins.

TREASURER’S REPORT....Read and presented to all members at the annual meeting.  All CPPA

Accounts are in good standing.  Advise to file for Non-Profit status.   Apply for Raffle License for annual banquet raffle ($20).  Purchase and supplies needed for treasurer functions. Collect Team Fees for annual meeting costs.

 

MINUTES...minutes from meeting at SD Regional Match 8/25/17, read and accepted.   

 

STATS AND RECORDS.......To all present, check over the final results and make corrections.  Number #15 (Fredrickson) is an Arizona shooter and dropped.  Mike Tangas (16) will move into #15 slot for annual CPPA member’s results.  John Koon will print out the final results. 

 

BY-LAWS......Need to update.  Make corrections to book, which is out of date.  John Koon will make an e-file.  Assign update corrections to By-law committee members.  Inquire to CPPA seal.  Secretary has the CPPA seal..   

 

RULES COMMITTEE… Nothing to report. 

 

MEMBERSHIP….. 17 new CPPA members for 2017. 

 

Life members information needs to be updated on “LIFE” members for any (address) corrections.

All Match Sponsors were asked to try to bring on new members.

 

MATCH SPONSORS Nothing..

 

 

CLASSIFICATIONS/PROTESTS.......Nothing. 

 

DISTINGUISHED MATCH........The 2017 match season used the new program to pool all distinguished scores for end of season award points.  There were five (5) legs in the Revolver group and six (6) legs in the Semi-auto group.  No shooter legged out for 2017 in either group.  There are three (3) semi-auto and one (1) revolver distinguished badges availably in the CPPA program.  We will need to re-order in the future. 

 

Note: Under this new distinguished program all sponsors can have distinguished matches and the scores will be submitted to distinguished pool for year-end results and standings.

 

PUBLICATIONS. John Koon reported having website problems at this time.  Working on correcting and re-building and will advise when able to post info on website.

 OLD BUSINESS

 

Treasurer advised that taxes have been paid.  Discussion on website problems.  CPPA is paying $1,000 for this website service.  Member want to check costs into having another company build one for CPPA.  Jose Ortiz will check into costs from various companies.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS 

 

The NRA has added a new program.  Production Distinguish to State and NRA regional matches.  Krupa will keep track of CPPA scores in this program in case the CPPA decides later to incorporate these earn points into a new CPPA program after the 2018 season.

New Business

 

Banquet in Riverside area.  Location to be set.  Kothlow to check on Air-Museum near March Field.  Discussion on keeping cost for banquet reasonable.  Cost for Mission Inn was ($46).  Try to keep meal costs between $40-50.  CPPA raffle offsetting total costs.  J. Ortiz will check Hotel rates in area.  Plaque costs between $30-35.  Discussion on cost and other awards.  Certificates or other to be checked into by Awards committee.

Do BOD meeting by email on May 1 @ CHP match. Prepare for annual awards banquet.

 

REMINDER – all match sponsors need to provide TWO (2) raffle prizes for the banquet and try to get prizes donated.  Tom Cantrell will check on pricing for plaques. 

 

All BOD members will email Tangas prior to banquet on status of assignments.

 

Match Sponsors should be submitting their NRA applications as early as possible for inclusion in the NRA magazine(s). Match Sponsors need to send FLYERS to J. Koon-ASAP for posting on website.  Law Enforcement only on flyers.  Military Police are ok.  Koon can do a mass emailing. 

Note-Sponsors can do one NRA match or both, but limit cost to $35.00.

 

Match sponsors should have their match flyers posted on the website at least one month before the match.

 

 

 

Old Business:

 

NRA having a Production Gun Distinguish for Regional and State matches.  CPPA wait and see how program works and if CPPA wants to have a similar program.  CPPA will track scores for possible earned points in a CPPA program at end of 2018.

Website check for Internet providers.  Go-Daddy and others available.  Jose Ortiz will check on this.

 

New Business:

 

Discussion by Kothlow on running Postal Matches and cost to Postal site teams.  Cost of $10 for Postal teams is not enough and possibly should be higher.  Discussion of costs of match fees or target costs.  Nothing changed at this discussion.
